A translation of the intricate carvings of devatas (minor female deities) on the walls of the petite 10th century Banteay Srei temple into curvilinear motifs handcrafted in silver. Distinct from the other temples in the Angkor megacity with its small size, pink sandstone and elaborate decorative wall carvings of devatas, the temple well deserves its name, for Banteay Srei roughly means “the citadel of beauty”.
An organic shape of bright, polished silver, sensually round and smooth to the touch. Suspended from a silver wire, the pendant was made first in clay, then cast in silver, filed and polished for brightness.
